Coco and Marín have lived together for years and consider each other best friends. They join Gus, Aroa and Loren for a road trip celebrating Blanca's upcoming wedding. Netflix's official setup starts with friendship and very quickly introduces the problem: this group has secrets, and the journey gives those secrets nowhere useful to hide.
Itziar Manero plays Coco opposite Daniel Ibáñez as Marín. Ricardo Gómez is Gus, Lucía de la Fuente plays Aroa, Brays Efe is Loren and Clara Sans is bride-to-be Blanca. Rather than treating the surrounding friends as decoration for one central romance, the premise makes the whole group part of the emotional mechanism.
Five episodes leave little room for polite avoidance
The limited-series format is unusually compact for a relationship story built around an ensemble. Netflix has confirmed five episodes, released globally together on August 28.
That gives the adaptation a useful pressure point. Everyone begins the trip with an established version of the group: who is with whom, which friendships are secure, what can safely remain unspoken. Once one of those assumptions changes, the series can move directly to the people who were relying on it.
The official trailer wraps that tension in a deliberately summery package. There are beaches, photographs, parties and the sort of casual intimacy that only works because these characters already know one another extremely well. The awkward part is discovering how incomplete that knowledge may be.
Another Benavent book moves from the page to Netflix
The series adapts Elísabet Benavent's novel of the same name, published by Suma. It follows several earlier Netflix adaptations connected to her work, including Valeria, A Perfect Story and the film Sounds Like Love.
Benavent is also an executive producer here alongside Ángel Armada and Marina Pérez. María Togores and Pérez share directing duties, while Pérez wrote the screen adaptation with Montaña Marchena. César Benítez serves as producer, with Plano a Plano producing in collaboration with Netflix.
That continuing relationship is relevant because Benavent has never been particularly interested in apologizing for romance as entertainment. Speaking to El País ahead of this release, she again pushed back against the idea that popular romantic fiction should be treated as something lesser. All the Truth in My Lies does not appear eager to disguise where it comes from either.
The friendship may be the harder relationship to repair
Netflix's synopsis describes the trip as a ticking time bomb, but the more useful word may be friendship. Romantic feelings can trigger the revelations; the collateral damage belongs to an entire group that has been living with overlapping loyalties for years.
That makes Blanca's bachelorette party a particularly efficient setting. Everybody is supposed to be celebrating a relationship at exactly the moment the other relationships around it begin looking less reliable.
All five episodes of All the Truth in My Lies premiere globally on Netflix on August 28.
